Name: | Great Minds Think - and Slash - Alike |
---|---|
Birthdate: | May 14 |
Great minds think alike, they say. Well, we can't necessarily make claim to being great minds, but we do think alike, and have done for years. And we've written together for years as well - to the point where neither of us is entirely capable of doing any writing without the input of the other.
Bridget lives England and has a degree in English with Creative Writing. She is a grammar-Nazi, exercises strict punctuational control over Trojie, and is the voice of linguistic clarity and reason in all the writing on this journal. Bridget's fandoms include Chronicles of Narnia, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Discworld, Good Omens, Stargate Atlantis, Torchwood, Robin Hood and New Doctor Who. Her main role in writing is to egg Trojie on and then take Trojie's output, clean it up, elaborate on it, make sure the sentences make sense, and point out where more needs to be written.
On the occasions Bridget write solo, her work tends to be quirky and lower-rated. She uses less parentheses than Trojie and has a talent for scene-setting and description.
Trojie lives in New Zealand and has a degree in geology and biology. She tends to provide a phenomenal output of words that then require a precision beta-reading job to be publishable. Trojie's fandoms include Chronicles of Narnia, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Merlin, Discworld, Good Omens, Neil Gaiman, Biggles, Tamora Pierce, Pern, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly/Serenity. Her main role in writing is to provide the impetus and the bulk of the raw wordcount that Bridget then perfects and directs.
On the occasions Trojie writes solo, it is usually prompt-based, present-tense and higher-rated. She has a love-affair with the nested parenthesis, the ellipsis and the adverb.
There is original fiction on this journal as well. Those pieces initiated and primarily written by Bridget are largely experimental writing involving a deliberate crossing of boundaries both linguistically and content-wise. Pieces mostly written by Trojie are largely snippets, excerpts from and drafts of her WIP werewolf novel.
Bridget and Trojie's first collaboration was the continuation of the cult Lord of the Rings fanfic 'BagEnders' which they call 'PseudoBagenders' or 'BagEnders, the Next Generation', a link to which can be found on the sticky-post at the top of this journal. For those of you unfamiliar with the original, this AU involves a Fellowship made immortal and living in the North of England in the early 00s. The general situation is c/o The Young Ones and the content is high-crack.
Bridget and Trojie also team up as sporkers of badfic, specifically badslash, for the Protectors of the Plot Continuum. The link to this work can be found on the sticky-post at the top of this journal.
